FAQs about Guest Posts to the BlogThanks for your interest in becoming one of our blog contributors. The following information and FAQs should help you get started.

We’ll begin with five top level categories. These were chosen after researching common topics that match up well with the expertise of our members. Sub-categories will also be added as appropriate.

Some general things to know about contributing:

  • The blog disclaimer and terms of privacy are here.
  • Participation is completely voluntary without fees or obligation.
  • Content may be edited by us as needed.  The original intent or “context” will not be altered.
  • Ideal article length is between 300 and 500 words – using a Word Document with a counter is an easy way to check your length.
  • Original content is key – We are looking for your own input and unique perspective, not articles written by another source.
  • Feel free to submit posts that are specific topics. As an example, posts can contain information about a specific accounting software package or can be specific to your locale. Remember different articles will appeal to different visitors and we’d like this blog to be diverse. In the event a general category is too broad, we will add sub-categories to accommodate your content.
  • Posts should not to be self-promoting but should “inform” and create value for the reader through your knowledge and expertise.
  • All Contributors will receive mention, which will include a back-link your business website.
  • When there are multiple contributors, each contributor will be recognized.This strategy is to build our audience by offering expertise from multiple professionals with varied backgrounds or in various locations.
  • Post activation times will vary depending on the number of submissions we receive and whether the article will include more than one contributor. Please be patient.  It’s our intent to give everyone an opportunity to participate.
  • There is no limit to the number of articles / posts you can submit.
  • You will receive an email when your post has been received and is in review mode.
  • You will receive an email when your post has been activated on the blog.

We encourage you to link to your articles or posts on your own website or social media site. You can always comment on your own posts or on posts by others. Comments are moderated, but we will carefully consider all comments for inclusion. We welcome topic suggestions and any other questions you have.  Thank you for your participation.
